Ananda College Swimmers Make Waves with Record-Breaking Triumph at National Championships

Ananda College delivered a spectacular performance at the 50th Sri Lanka Schools Swimming Championships, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in school-level aquatic sports. Competing amidst fierce competition from over 200 schools and more than 7,500 event entries, the College emerged as the Overall Runners-up while clinching the prestigious Under-20 Championship title.

The team’s relentless commitment, hours of training, and deep sense of unity led to an unforgettable showing in both individual and relay events. Ananda’s swimmers etched their names into history by setting two new Sri Lanka Schools records — in the Under-20 50m Breaststroke and the 4×50m Freestyle Relay. Among a pool of over 3,000 athletes, their skill and sportsmanship stood out, drawing admiration from peers and officials alike.

This outstanding achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support and guidance of the College leadership. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Principal, Mr. D.M.L.P. Dissanayake, the Deputy Principal – Sports and Extracurricular, the Prefect of Games, Masters-in-Charge of Swimming, and the dedicated coaching staff. Their commitment to excellence in sports and extracurricular activities continues to inspire and uplift generations of young Anandians.

This triumph at the golden jubilee of the championship marks yet another proud chapter in Ananda College’s illustrious sporting legacy.
