Celebrating Excellence: Ananda College Annual Prize Giving 2024 Concludes on a Grand Note

The highly anticipated Ananda College Annual Prize Giving for the year 2024 was held on the 15th of May 2026 with immense grandeur and solemnity at the Kularatne Hall. The event, which celebrated the outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements of Anandians, was organized under the leadership and guidance of the Principal, Mr. Lal Dissanayake.

This year’s ceremony was graced by a distinguished lineup of guests, featuring eminent old boys who have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields. The Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the illustrious alumnus Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, honored the occasion as the Chief Guest, while the Group Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC, the renowned alumnus Mr. Supun Weerasinghe, attended as the Special Guest.

The evening featured several major highlights, including the presentation of the prestigious Anandabhimana Award. This once-in-a-lifetime honor, bestowed upon an Old Anandian who has rendered exceptional service to the nation across national, international, social, and cultural spheres, was awarded to the veteran actor and legendary artist, Kalasoori Wijeratne Warakagoda.

Furthermore, the most coveted award for the most outstanding student of the year, the Fritz Kunz Memorial Trophy, was proudly claimed by Master H.A. Senura Sathsara for his exceptional all-round performance.
