Students of Ananda College Colombo Visit Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka and President's House Colombo

A group of students representing the Student Parliament of Ananda College, Colombo, visited the Presidential Secretariat and the President’s House this morning (24) as part of an educational visit.

This opportunity was granted to the College in line with the “Vision” programme series, jointly organised by the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Education, and the Communication Division of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, aimed at educating school students on governance and civic responsibility.

Following a tour of the historic Old Parliament building within the Presidential Secretariat premises, students were briefed on the history of Parliament and its evolution. They were also educated on the role of the Executive, the functions of the President’s Fund, and the importance of the rule of law.

During the programme, certificates were awarded to members representing the Student Parliament of Ananda College by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Risvi Salih.

The event was attended by Presidential Legal Advisor Attorney-at-Law J. M. Wijebandara and Senior Additional Secretary to the President Subhash Roshan Gamage. Symbolising the importance of environmental conservation, a valuable sapling was also presented to the school.

Officials including the Director and Deputy Directors of the Tri-Forces Security Coordination Unit, the Principal of Ananda College Mr. Lal Dissanayake, and members of the academic staff were also present on this occasion.
