Anandians in Qatar Donate Cricket Jerseys to Ananda College

Ananda College recently received a generous donation of cricket jerseys for the First XI and Second XI cricket teams from the Anandians in Qatar.

This gesture of generosity was extended by Anandians in Qatar in response to a special request made by the Principal of Ananda College from the Qatar OBA. Valued at nearly 400,000.00 rupees, the jerseys were handed over to the college principal, Mr. D. M. L. P. Dissanayake, by Mr. Lahiru Chathuranga, President of Anandians in Qatar and Mr Asela Manage, the past president of Anandians in Qatar.

The official handing over ceremony was held in the presence of the Master-in-Charge of cricket, senior coaches, and representatives from the Old Boys’ Association (OBA) and the Cricket Wing. The principal later distributed the jerseys among the players, expressing gratitude for the continuous support from Anandians abroad, which helps foster the development of sports at the college.

This thoughtful donation is expected to boost the morale of the cricketers as they prepare for upcoming tournaments, contributing to the legacy of excellence in sports at Ananda College.
