Clean Maradana 2025 Launched Jointly by Three Leading Schools

July 5, 2025

As part of the government’s flagship national initiative, “Clean Sri Lanka 2025”, three prestigious schools—Ananda College Colombo, Zahira College Maradana, and St. Joseph’s College Maradana—came together in unity to launch the “Clean Maradana 2025” campaign.

The program commenced on July 4th, 2025, at 2:30 PM, in front of the main entrance of Ananda College, with the participation of the principals of all three schools and the Maradana Railway Station Master, along with many other distinguished guests.

During this inaugural event, student prefect bodies from all three schools actively engaged in cleaning both sides of the road from Ananda College to the Maradana Railway Station, symbolizing unity, discipline, and civic responsibility.

The concept was initiated by Mr. D.M.L.P. Dissanayake, Principal of Ananda College, and was warmly welcomed by the other participating schools’ principals. Student executive bodies from all three institutions played a vital role in making the event a meaningful and successful start to a long-term vision.
